Reiki Treatments

A Reiki Treatment Session supports and empowers the innate healing capacity of persons toward wholeness and balance. Individual Reiki treatment sessions:

  • can be easily incorporated into an on-going wellness program,

  • are fully compatible and can be integrated with conventional medicine and
        other complimentary methods

  • may be helpful for both acute and chronic diseases and conditions
(as noted in Usui System of Reiki Healing)

Extra time is scheduled for the first treatment to obtain basic information about the client and their treatment needs. There is time to speak about the hands-on treatment session and any concerns the client may have. The client is also encouraged to alert the Practitioner at any time during the treatment of any needs for comfort that may arise.

During the session the client remains fully clothed. As the person relaxes on a bodywork table, an experienced Reiki Practitioner gently places hands on the person's body in a progression of positions following the form and practice of The Usui System. This catalyzes the movement of universal life force, reiki, through the person. Treatments can be done in silence or with music softly playing.  During the session, a person may feel deep relaxation, find relief from pain, and have a sense of well-being and peace. The session ends with a short period of rest and some time to share about the treatment with the Practitioner. This is a good time to ask any further questions that may have arisen.

Reiki is cumulative, and while significant relief may be experienced in the first treatment, it is advisable to have 3-4 treatments.  Reiki gently "meets you where you are" and works with you from there.  Each treatment may be different as to specifics of the "experience", e.g., some times you may fall into a deep sleep while other times you may be fully aware, though relaxed.   Chronic conditions, in particular, have taken a long period of time to develop and likewise may require a period of treatment for change.

The client may also experience additional changes occurring in the days following a treatment.
It's a good idea to reflect at the end of these days on such movement.
