Ruth Wong Pine was born and raised in Hong Kong.  As a child, she learned calligraphy in school, but hardly took any notice of this treasure.  Following a career as Deputy Director of Nursing in a 1500-bed hospital and Senior lecturer in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, she left in 1993 to pursue her new-found love of Reiki.  A few years ago she began study with a Chinese Calligraphy Master which included Chinese painting.  As a hobby, Ruth enjoys translating English names into Chinese characters.
